On Friday June 8, Anchorites (from left) Paul Schlenger, Dan Berlin, Mark Larsen, Mitch Olsen, and Amanda Shellenberger ran for the glory in the 23rd Annual Fremont Briefcase Relay.
Each member of the team sprinted an impressive 1K wearing very serious business attire (from the waist up, that is) and carrying a briefcase containing a copy of the 2007 yellow pages.
The race benefited Solid Ground, a group of thirty organizations that help King County families with resources to overcome homeless, hunger, and domestic violence. Our intrepid Anchor team came in twelfth out of forty teams entered, which isn’t too bad considering the weight of those wigs! We’re happy to report that they did even better in the beer-mug weightlifting competition that followed. Congratulations, Team Anchor!
