Environmental Analysis for Airport Facilities

Anchor QEA's transportation group has specialized experience in environmental review and permitting for airport facilities, where we have completed dozens of projects around the country.  Many of our assignments involve assessing impacts associated with new runways, new taxiways, runway extensions, and runway safety area expansions, as well as other airport infrastructure improvements.  We most frequently evaluate impacts associated with wetlands, endangered species, plants and animals, stormwater, water quality, 4(f) lands, cultural resources, aesthetics, and land use.

Anchor QEA scientists and planners work together to prepare technical documentation in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) guidelines, as well as associated documentation, such as Section 106 Cultural Resource Assessments and biological assessments necessary for Endangered Species Act (ESA) consultation.  Our work often includes identifying and evaluating mitigation measures to address potential impacts, and we have developed plans for wetland mitigation, stream restoration, and other habitat improvements.
