Hazel Hole Engineered Log Jam Project

Anchor QEA conducted the design analyses, developed logjam designs, produced permitting and construction documents, and oversaw all phases of contractor solicitation and construction for 10 Engineered Log Jams (ELJs) throughout a 1-mile project area of the North Fork Stillaguamish River.  The ELJs were designed to provide many benefits, including: enhancement and creation of beneficial riparian habitat such as forested islands and large holding pools for adult salmonids; reconnection of side-channel habitats; prevention of an imminent, undesirable avulsion; dispersion of flood flows; and reduction of erosive energy along State Route 530.
